Mark made a pretty big attribution mistake.
Mark linked to a Warp Zone article that was actually written by me, except he credited it to Jason Smith. It was actually that article that got Dave Allwein, then the operator of the Warp Zone, to join up with me to open Cheetahmen Corner. I wrote it when I was sixteen, so this was about seven to eight years ago. At the time, NES World covered it too: www.nesworld.com/ae-search.php
By the way, glp, I removed your second link post since both links do seem to work properly. I hope you don't mind.
I don’t believe ACTION 52 will ever be remembered for its gameplay, but rather for the “Story” about Active Enterprises, the owners/creators of the Game and the Mystery and intrigue that surrounded this whole endeavor and continues even to this day!
While the game(s) were terrible, it is this absolute lack of ANY redeaming qualities that has inspired, entertained, frustrated and endured for literally MILLIONS of gamers not only here, but throughout Japan and Europe.
I don’t think anyone can name any other Game that still generates so much CONTROVERSY, inspires so much HATE, triggers more heated DEBATE and is still talked about so much.
Just this discovery of the new Prototype cart has set much of the Retro Gamer world abuzz with the news that there is a new long lost, never before seen Cheetahmen game!! It’s what make and keeps Retro alive and interesting.
It has taken seventeen months and untold millions of man hours, but I can announce that CHEETAHMEN: THE CREATION, will debut 11-11-11. This is CHEETAHMEN as only Vince Perri could do it. YES, I mean the actual Prequel to CHEETAHMEN I and II will be released in a special COLLECTOR PACKAGE to add to the MISERY wrought by ACTION ENTERPRISES so many years ago PRAY FOR MERCY!! www.cheetahmengames.com goes live on 10-1-11
